When we fell pregnant in 2022, we knew that we wanted to build our pregnancy/postnatal support team and that a doula would suit our needs. Our mental health and marriage was a top priority during this time.
Karen was the perfect addition to our team as she not only provided the more well known postnatal doula services, but also focused on giving us tools and education on these topics through counseling sessions.
She provided great resources to assist us in preparing for a positive birth experience, and counseled us through the more difficult aspects of the process with a wholistic approach.
One of the most helpful aspects of Karen’s care is the ability to contact her at any time with questions or concerns. This made us feel very reassured and comfortable knowing that we had constant support.
Karen is very knowledgeable, easy to be around, and is a very loving person.
We are so thankful for her experience and compassion during this time of our lives!
Karen is the most caring and compassionate soul. Her passion for her work in the area of perinatal mental health and supporting families is more than obvious. She is super knowledgeable/informative.
Her work helped to empower us as parents to make the most informed decisions during each step of our birthing journey, as well as become the best advocates for ourselves. This empowering experience also gave us confidence as parents going into the birth of our beautiful daughter and significantly helped with our positive adjustment postpartum.
Karen’s human approach in sharing her own life experience allowed us to connect and share so easily. A key take away was our learning about prioritizing our self-care and wellbeing to bring our best selves to our relationship with our baby. Such a positive impact all around for our family.
💗Highly recommend Karen and her outstanding services!
Working with Karen is one of the best decisions we’ve made as new parents!
She provided us so much information on prenatal care, postpartum and recovery, and life transitions as a couple as we became we parents. We also discussed birth plans and how to deal with birth trauma.
We loved the unlimited text and phone calls which we were very grateful for after experiencing an emergency caesarean section and NICU stay with a preemie. Karen is personable, kind, caring and truly amazing at what she does!
If you’re on the fence about a postpartum doula, do yourself a favour and send Karen a message! You won’t regret it.
Connecting with Karen before becoming a mom was one of the best decisions I made prior to my little one’s arrival!
Her support ensured that I was prepared for my labour and the postpartum period. No matter if I had questions about my own recovery, breastfeeding, sleep or anything related to my son’s development, Karen was able to provide me with invaluable support while affirming that I was doing a great job.
If you are looking for a postpartum doula I would highly recommend connecting with Karen! She is a phenomenal doula. Knowledgeable, approachable, kind, and supportive; and I am positive that my postpartum period would have been a lot more challenging without all of her help.
Thank you so much for everything Karen!
We are so glad to have worked with Karen. She was a great help to us as first time parents.
There were lots of things we thought we knew- but we didn’t realize how much we didn’t know. She provided valuable insight into prenatal, postpartum life with baby, including the relationship between mom and dad and breastfeeding tips—we wanted to breastfeed our little one and when she arrived, Karen went above and beyond to help us reach that goal.
We highly recommend her, especially if you are first time parents.
The peer counselling group has been so valuable for me as an individual and for my family. I was able to connect with people in similar situations. With Karen’s mentorship I was also able to learn and practice what it looked like to put myself first and meet my own needs while living a busy life (working full time, with children and having a husband who works away).
Through the last few months I was able to shift limiting beliefs and truly start believing that putting myself first meant being able to better care for my family.
The individual counselling allowed me to heal past traumas and figure out how it was impacting me from day to day and ways to navigate that grief while also being able to be the mom that I wanted to be. There were so many mind shifts, but it came easily and with Karen’s guidance I was able to continue to work on things that helped me in my daily life.
I am beyond grateful to be a part of the Peer Counselling Group facilitated by Karen. Her knowledge, understanding and compassion have far exceeded my expectations. I don't think there is a situation she couldn't put a positive spin on and make you feel more empowered as a mother and a woman.
As a mom with a husband who works away, it can be very isolating but through this group I have met other women in the same situation. We share our thoughts and stories about everyday life that are raw and real and make you realize you are not alone.
I am so glad I reached out to take control and start finding myself again.
